Tracing Cultural Values in Thai Students’ Dialogical Argumentation

Critical thinking and argumentation skills are crucial for developing responsible citizens active participants in society. Indeed, reasoning known to be exercised differently distinctive cultures. Historical, cultural institutional contexts shape the way people a society think, communicate act. In this regard, predominant Western assumption that should detachable from emotion may not necessarily accurate within Thai context. This paper highlights how different assumptions were displayed dialogical English fourteen, first-year undergraduates of Programme at university. The analysis data indicated some presented their claims close end argumentative turns. addition, personal experience was regularly employed as an strategy.
